Set up Staining Method

A staining method is a stain applied to a slide, such as Haematoxylin and Eosin, Gram Stain or Ziehl-Neelsen. Each method has a short name that is used on slide labels.

Add a staining method​

  1. Go to Laboratory › Laboratory Masters › Staining Method.

  2. Click Add. The form opens on the right. The empty Staining Method form

  3. Fill in the fields:

  4. Click Save. The form closes and the new method appears in the list.

Change or deactivate a staining method​

  1. In the list, click the ⋮ button at the end of the row and choose Edit.
  2. Change the fields you need. To stop using the method, switch Status to Inactive.
  3. Click Save.

Staining methods cannot be deleted from this screen. Make a method Inactive instead.

Good to know​

  • Each short name must be unique.
  • Keep short names brief: they have to fit on a slide label.
  • Click Cancel to close the form without saving.
