Set up State

A state is the second level of an address, under a country. It can be a state or a union territory. The list comes pre-loaded, so you only need this screen to add a missing one or correct a detail. Districts and cities are added under a state.

Add a state​

  1. Go to General Masters › Location Masters › State.

  2. Click Add. The state form opens.

  3. Enter the State Name, choose Is State or Is Union Territory, and enter a State Short Name if you use one.

  4. Click Country Name and pick the country. Type in Search to find it quickly. The state form with the Country Name list open and its Search box

  5. The fields are:

  6. Click Save. You return to the list.

Change or deactivate a state​

  1. In the list, click the ⋮ button at the end of the row and choose Edit. The row menu with the Edit option
  2. Change the fields you need. To hide the state from address lists, switch Status to Inactive.
  3. Click Save.

States cannot be deleted. Make a state Inactive instead.

Good to know​

  • Each state name must be unique.
  • If a country is missing from the Country Name list, add it in Country.
  • Export to csv downloads the list. Import loads states from a file.
  • Click Back to List to leave the form without saving.
